The main doors of the sanctuary are open on Sundays for entering into the Divine Service. You can also enter through the commons door (off of our parking lot) prior to the Divine Service. The commons door is locked at the beginning of the Divine Service.

What To Expect

We are a liturgical church, using Lutheran Service Book (LSB) for all of our services. The order of service is found in the bulletin. This will guide you through using LSB during the service. If you have not been to a liturgical service before, please, know that it is normal to take a few weeks to learn the liturgy. It is a tremendously rich and joyful way to worship our Lord Jesus Christ and is well worth the effort!

The Lord’s Supper is offered at each Sunday Divine Service. We observe the historic Christian practice of Closed Communion. See below for more on this.

Our Communion Practice

We follow the historic Christian practice of Closed Communion. This practice is commonly misunderstood and, therefore, sometimes leads to offense. We have no desire to offend you. However, we cannot be unfaithful to the instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ when it comes to the Lord’s Supper.

Visitors and guests are always welcome in our services, and we pray those attending will be blessed. We encourage you to return to worship with us on a regular basis.

Here is the Communion Statement which is published each week inside our bulletin. It briefly explains our practice. If you will be joining us, please, feel free to contact Pastor Schuermann ahead of time. He is ready and willing to talk with you about receiving the Supper here, either right away or after a period of Christian instruction.

We are a congregation of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, a family of congregations who pledge themselves to teach and to believe the same doctrines. We invite those persons who are members of Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod congregations or of churches in fellowship with the LCMS to receive the Body and Blood of Christ in the Holy Communion. Please speak with Pastor Schuermann before communing for the first time, or if you have any questions or would like to learn more about our beliefs. If you are not receiving Communion but would like to receive a blessing at the rail, you may indicate this by crossing your arms over your chest.
